Hey star-gazers! Happy first-week-of-Saturn-in-Pisces! How did Kronos’ big sign change go for you?
Oddly, I woke up that day feeling a profound sense of lightness and relief; perhaps there’s something to be said about having a heavier planet vacate your house of pleasure and creativity? In my sixth, I feel myself regaining a bit of motivation and focus, which was largely zapped under Mars in Gemini. Though with that square to Neptune perfecting again this week, I’m gearing up for some wishy-washy thinking and a dispersal of energy towards the second-half of the week. We’ll see if I need to drag out and charge my ‘concentration crystals’ as some sort of conscious counterweight to the lack of celestial productivity!
With that, let’s dig into the astrology of the week!
March 12 begins with a powerful constellation of planets and asteroids meeting up in the sky, beginning with Chiron, the wounded healer, conjuncting expansive Jupiter, making this a prime week to heal emotional hurts using hard-won wisdom.
Perhaps you’ve struggled with independence in the past, or had your wings clipped by naysayers doubting your potential. In Aries, we can find ourselves reflecting on instances where our personal identity meets individual ambition, so take care to cleanse your inner space and sit with your inner child, listening and tending to their needs.
And, of course, Jupiter’s sage counsel can help us apply important life-lessons as we work through any emotional baggage. Although the square to Pallas Athene in Cancer may lead us to grapple with nurturing ourselves over others this week, with Chiron and Jupiter in orb of a conjunction to Vesta, keep those internal fires stoked and your energies focused on your passions, not your previous detractors! The brooding intensity of the Moon in Scorpio can amplify a tendency towards interiority, but don’t get lost in the darkness — there’s so much light to harness from this planetary and asteroid powerhouse!
Also taking place on March 12 is a trine between retrograde Ceres in Libra and Hygeia in Aquarius. In a previous forecast, I noted the potential energies that retrograde Ceres could invite, dredging up past memories or reliving old experiences where relationships may have let you down.
Where your well-being is concerned, the positive and harmonious trine to the asteroid of preventative health, Hygeia, can present another healing opportunity. In the vein of processing old hurts and dealing with emotional baggage, this could be the supportive signature you need to put those issues to bed. Given the concurrent Chiron-Jupiter-Vesta dynamic, this week may ultimately be about self-empowerment, reflecting on previous choices, and committing to making better ones that support your personal growth and aspirations in the future.
Mars moves into a square to Neptune on March 14, potentially making this a difficult day for getting things done. With Neptune in Pisces, we may find our dreamy side warring with our desire to get up and go. The conflict may even manifest in relation to speed, effort and reward.
Mars in hasty, moving-and-shaking Gemini wants immediate gratification, while Neptune in slow, amorphous and depth-craving Pisces wants us to enjoy the journey without caring much about the destination. So, try not to get too impatient under the influence of this aspect, which could linger for a few days on either side of March 14. Accept that things may not necessarily come to fruition, projects could stall, or your motivation could be zapped. Hopefully, Saturn leaves its calling card in Pisces, potentially balancing Neptune’s more nebulous and dissipating energies by adding structure, weight and grounding to any mental and emotional discombobulation.
On March 15, the Sun’s conjunction with Neptune in Pisces could continue the theme of the Mars-Neptune square by making this a more difficult day for you to advance projects, goals and ambitions.
Neptune could cast its daydreamy and imaginative rays, pulling the Sun into a cozy environ of envisaging intentions rather than going forth and making them happen. This isn’t a bad thing, but simply calls on us to temper our expectations around seeing projects over the finish line or being uber-productive.
Instead, you may feel called to escape the demands of the everyday by retreating to more elusive, dissociating and disconnecting behaviours. On the restorative side of things, you could also find yourself craving silence, retreat and meditation, which could ultimately leave you feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle new challenges that lie ahead.
This transit could be beneficial for heightening your sensitivity to your own needs as well as others. In the selfless sign of Pisces, you could be more concerned with service, or have heightened sensitivity towards anything that drains you energetically. Thus, you may do more good than you realize in being empathetic and compassionate not only towards others, but also towards yourself.
On March 16, we have one of the busiest days of the month astrologically. The Sun in Pisces squares Mars in Gemini, Mercury conjuncts Neptune in Pisces, Venus in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn, and then Venus enters Taurus a few hours later.
I am personally expecting this day to be action-packed, but also slightly more difficult with Mars’ dispositor meeting up with Neptune.
Both Mercury and Neptune have some challenges with truth-telling and so this aspect could suggest a cloudy day for communication, with the potential for deceptions taking place, either willfully or otherwise, ultimately undermining the quality of information you receive and potentially act upon.
On the positive side, the Venus-Pluto square, albeit brief, could bring about a deep, emotional counterweight in our closest relationships. You may crave powerful moments of emotional intensity and with Pluto in Capricorn, a certain amount of security and stability at the same time.
The one cautionary note is that Pluto in Capricorn can have some of its more challenging sides amplified by its domicile ruler, Saturn, in emotional Pisces. The position of Saturn could translate into feelings of only moderate, albeit measured emotional support, or a sudden wall put up where one’s true feelings are concerned. However, with Venus moving immediately into Taurus, a restoration around individual value and empowerment could potentially counteract the more precarious side of Pluto’s influence that day.
On March 17, the Sun-Mercury conjunction highlights the turning point in Mercury’s 116-day synodic cycle. Marking Mercury’s superior conjunction, its Epimethean phase, and the waning portion of its hemicycle, expect a moderately significant union between Sol and the little grey planet opening up a major opportunity for you to potentially begin a new, Mercurial venture: a new communications endeavour, a new writing project, a new commercial venture, or another possible permutation of a wise Mercury, ready to implement its early learning, synthesize information, and put the ideas it may have toyed with back in January into action.
The Mercury-Mars square occurring the same day may also helpfully light a fire under us, so all in all I like this day for getting some exciting initiative off the ground.
The next day, Mercury sextiles Pluto, closing out the week on a positive aspect with a penchant for creative problem solving. Pluto can help us dig deep, and so this aspect could have a lot to do with us plunging head first into a new endeavour, getting up to our knees in information, or researching the possible pathways to help move any new venture forward.
