Hey star-gazers! Where does the time go? We’re already into March this week — a month that’s probably the most energetically charged of any we’ve seen in a while! Two of the sky’s greatest malefic planets and massive movers-and-shakers are changing signs this month.
Saturn enters Pisces on March 7, initiating a new two-and-a-half-year cycle for all of us.
This will be a period where we can expect to see contraction in an area of our lives, potentially accompanied by feelings of isolation, alienation, lack, or anxiety.
But Saturn in Pisces isn’t all bad! Saturn is also the planet of diligence, hard work and perseverance, so its transit can teach us all about the importance of sheer will applied with great force and the corresponding rewards that are reaped from putting our minds to something and sticking with it.
Pluto also enters Aquarius on March 23, initiating a roughly two-year liminal dance between Aquarius and Capricorn, as Pluto’s retrograde motion will send it dipping back into the house of the sea goat. This said, Pluto’s change-making agenda will last two decades — from 2023 to 2044 — so prepare for monumental shake-ups, profound transformations, and letting go of what no longer serves us.
Finally, Mars will leave Gemini on March 25, which may present mixed blessings. In Cancer, Mars is in the place of its fall and despite some minor dignities by triplicity and term, especially in the early degrees of Cancer, this placement will bring its own unique challenges — but we’ll cross that bridge in future forecasts!
Additionally, Mercury, much more fast-moving, is making two sign-changes this month, entering Pisces on March 2 and Aries on March 19 — the day before the Sun follows, initiating the new astrological year!
With Venus having entered Taurus on March 16, we’ll have at least one benefic in domicile this month, offering up a more pleasant experience for many of us where financial matters and relationships are concerned.
With that, let’s dig into the astrology of the week!
-
While we start the week free from any partile aspects, anticipate some energies to begin slowly buzzing to life.
First, the two big money planets, Venus and Jupiter, are coming together in independence-oriented Aries where our financial thoughts could turn to fulfilling our purpose, drive and ambition.
Although this aspect won’t perfect until March 2, you may already start feeling the telltale itchy-palmed prescience of sudden windfalls coming your way.
For some of you, this aspect could also see relationship matters getting a happy boost from Jupiter in all its expansive and adventure-seeking glory. If you’ve been on the fence about taking the plunge with a new paramour, this aspect could be the celestial push that you’ve been waiting for!
Mercury is also inching closer to Saturn in the last degrees of Aquarius. This aspect also perfects on March 2, but the early days of the week could offer a last hurrah where strategic, creative and concentrated thought is concerned.
As Mercury slides into Pisces on March 2, this will mark a difficult seventeen days, since just-the-facts Mercury doesn’t much care for the diffusive, dreamy and go-with-the-flow vibes of watery Pisces.
Doubly-debilitated Mercury could experience additional challenges in this sign, not least because the little grey planet will also disappear from the visible sky, debilitated under the Sun’s beams beginning around March 7.
Mercury’s disappearance could occasionally correlate to hidden secrets, or crucial matters concealed from our view, only to come to light when Mercury reappears in fast-moving Aries on March 25. Be prepared for hidden communications, secrets or even gossip to be carrying on behind your back!
More broadly, Mercury in Pisces should have us all preparing for two difficult weeks where we’ll struggle with clear thinking and communication. Expect business contracts to dissolve, negotiations to come to naught, or the illusory qualities of Pisces to prevail, leading to tall tales or misleading information.
A promising celestial congruence is bound to take place on March 3 closing the week on a higher note, when Venus conjuncts Chiron. This configuration could present an opportunity to heal emotional wounds relating to self-worth, individual autonomy, or romantic partnerships.
